The Norwegian Government is proposing to open part of the Norwegian continental shelf for commercial mining on the seabed, which will be an important solution for the green transition. This is stated in the message of the government of the kingdom.
The Norwegian Government is ready to present a strategy demonstrating how the country aspires to become a world leader in the management of seabed mineral resources. The authorities assure that environmental considerations will be respected, and mining will be allowed only if the industry can demonstrate sustainable development and responsible attitude.
