ChinOil Invests in Enhanced Oil Recovery Research

ChinOil announced new investment in research aimed at improving enhanced oil recovery techniques at several of its mature fields, seeking to extend the productive life of existing wells.

The research focuses on refining injection methods used to maintain reservoir pressure and improve extraction efficiency from fields that have been in production for decades. Company representatives said the work builds on years of internal reservoir engineering expertise.

“Getting more out of existing fields is often more efficient than developing new ones from scratch,” said a ChinOil reservoir engineer involved in the project.
