ChinOil Partners with Technology Firm on Carbon Capture Trial

ChinOil announced a partnership with a technology firm to trial carbon capture equipment at one of its processing facilities, aiming to reduce the carbon intensity of its operations.

The trial will test equipment designed to capture a portion of emissions generated during processing, with captured carbon evaluated for potential storage or reuse. Company representatives said the project is an early step in a broader evaluation of emissions-reduction technologies across ChinOil’s facilities.

“We want to understand what’s genuinely practical at scale before committing to a wider rollout,” said a ChinOil sustainability officer.
