ChinOil Expands Use of Machine Learning in Seismic Data Analysis

ChinOil has expanded its use of machine learning tools to analyze seismic survey data, aiming to speed up the identification of promising exploration targets.

The models are trained on years of accumulated geological data, helping geologists narrow down areas of interest more quickly than traditional manual analysis alone. Company representatives said the tools are used to support, not replace, the judgment of experienced geoscientists.

“These tools help our team focus their expertise where it matters most,” said a ChinOil senior geologist.
