ChinOil Deploys Robotic Tank Inspection System

ChinOil has deployed a robotic inspection system designed to examine the interior of storage tanks without requiring them to be taken fully out of service, reducing inspection-related downtime.

The robots use imaging sensors to assess tank walls for corrosion and structural wear, generating detailed reports that inform maintenance scheduling. Company engineers said the system has already been used across several storage facilities since its introduction.

“Inspecting a tank used to mean taking it offline for days. Now we can do much of that work without the same disruption,” said a ChinOil maintenance engineer.
