China’s CNOOC has explored a large oil field in the Bohai Bay

The well at the Bachzhun 26-6 field can produce about 2.04 thousand barrels of oil and 320 thousand m3 of gas daily.

The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has explored a large oil field in the Bohai Gulf, with reserves of 100 million tons of oil.

The well at the field can produce about 2.04 thousand barrels of oil and 320 thousand m3 of gas daily.

According to China Central Television, the oil field is located in the southern part of the Bohai Bay in the Yellow Sea, about 170 km from Tianjin. The average water depth above the deposit is about 22.1 m.

Production at the Bohai field is about 1/6 of the daily oil production in China. By 2025, production is planned to increase to 100 thousand tons/day.
