China to get oil and gas from the ultra-deep Yellow Sea
China has drilled an ultra-deep oil and gas well in the Bohai Bay.
The well with a depth of more than 6 kilometers will produce oil and gas at the field in the Bohai Bay of the Yellow Sea.
Beijing has completed drilling of a 6.1 km deep oil and gas production well at the Bazhong 19-6 field in the Bohai Bay of the Yellow Sea. The gas reserves at the field are estimated at more than 100 billion cubic meters.
Recall that the Chinese state-owned CNOOC announced the discovery of a large field in the Yellow Sea in March, the same month it found 100 million tons of proven oil reserves in the South China Sea.
China really needs its own production, both for oil and gas, because it allows the largest consumer of energy resources in the world to be less dependent on energy imports.
