ChinOil Group of Companies will provide customer deposits with innovative systems of auto drilling

ChinOil has signed a contract with an oil company to provide services for drilling process automation at a number of customer deposits.

After successful testing of the system, the company’s specialists started implementing an innovative project.

Intellectual system was developed in the scientific center of ChinOil. This is a full cycle of drilling automation system – from writing the algorithm to manufacturing equipment in its own workshops. The automated system helps to effectively manage the well trajectory for oriented drilling; it improves the performance of the downhole motor, reduces the cost and the drilling time and, most importantly, minimizes the impact of the human factor on the accident rate. High safety standards are achieved due to the fact that the system automatically supports the specified drilling parameters, the necessary speed and pressure range.

The pilot-industrial tests of the automated drilling system were carried out at the existing drilling rig when drilling a group of horizontal wells at all stages of construction: from the direction to the horizontal sections of the wells.

“The tests showed an increase in the mechanical drilling speed in the system use intervals compared to the wells drilled without the automated complex. The growth rate was up to 25%. It is possible to accurately predict the reduction of well construction time when using this equipment. In addition, we get a better borehole with a less tortuosity and a decrease in deviations from the spatial intensity in comparison with the manual mode”, emphasized the deputy head of the ChinOil drilling department.
