Kazakhstan and China discussed cooperation in the oil and gas and energy sectors

The meeting of the Kazakhstan delegation, headed by Energy Minister A. Satkaliev, with the leadership of Chinese companies CNPC and State Power Investment Corporation took place in Beijing.
At the meeting with CNPC Chairman D. Houlian, key projects in the oil and gas industry were discussed, including the construction of a new line of the Beineu – Bozoi – Shymkent gas pipeline and a long-term contract for the export of Kazakh gas. The expansion of the Shymkent refinery’s capacity was also discussed. The parties confirmed their interest in joint projects on mutually beneficial terms.
During the negotiations with the chairman of the State Power Investment Corporation, L. Minsheng, the directions of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources were identified and the prospects for the development of the energy sector were discussed.
