Norwegian OKEA acquired a stake in the Statfjord oil field from Equinor

The transaction is part of the optimization of Equinor’s oil and gas portfolio. The company will remain the operator of the field with a 54.7% stake.

The Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor has signed an agreement on the transfer of assets to the Norwegian independent oil and gas company OKEA in the amount of US$ 220 million. This is reported by the Equinox press service.

The parties agreed on the amount of remuneration in the amount of $ 220 million, a conditional payment tied to commodity prices for a 3-year period: from 2023 to 2025.

The Statfjord oil field was commissioned in 1979 and is one of the oldest on the Norwegian continental shelf. It is located in the North Sea within the boundaries of blocks 33/9 and 33/12 under production licenses PL037 and PL089 (Norway), as well as block 211/25 under licenses 104 and 293 (Great Britain).
