QazaqGaz and CNPC have agreed to cooperate in the field of gas supplies and geological exploration

Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC “QazaqGaz” Sanzhar Zharkeshov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNPC Dai Houliang signed a cooperation agreement.

The document was signed within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People’s Republic of China.

The signed agreement will allow the companies to continue cooperation in the field of natural gas supplies, as well as geological exploration. The document also lays the foundation for the start of construction of the second line of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline.

The parties intend to sign a contract for the purchase and sale of natural gas based on the resource base and capacity of the gas pipelines of the national company QazaqGaz. In addition, the companies will consider cooperation in the field of geological exploration in promising subsurface areas on the territory of Kazakhstan.

The companies also plan to exchange experience between scientific, technical and research centers for the development of technological innovations in the gas industry.
