Saudi Arabia’s largest oil company, Saudi Aramco, announced an expansion of investments in the US energy sector. Announced projects include the integration of petrochemical and fuel production at the Motiva refinery, along with two long term liquefied natural gas supply contracts from facilities in Texas, each running for 20 years.

The company aims to reach up to 7.5 million tonnes of LNG per year from international projects by 2030. Aramco’s LNG plans are developing alongside similar initiatives from ADNOC and Qatar’s QatarEnergy, which are also expanding their presence in the gas and chemical industries.

Aramco’s US investments span traditional refining operations, research and development programs, and participation in startup ventures. The company views the American market as one of the key directions for long term business diversification.
