The Mokhtar gas field has been commissioned in Iran

The total reserves of the field are estimated at at least 20 billion m3 of natural gas.

The Iranian authorities have commissioned a new Mokhtar gas field in Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmed provinces, in the southwest of the country. This is reported by Shana.

It is noted that the work that began during the visit of President S. Raisi to Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province in the presence of Oil Minister D. Ovji and the Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company, M. Chegeni, are aimed at eliminating the seasonal imbalance between the production and consumption of natural gas.

Mokhtar gas field, an undeveloped hydrocarbon field located 10 km from Yasuj. Its development began at least 11 years after its opening. The total reserves of the Mokhtar field are estimated at at least 20 billion m3 of natural gas.

Iran ranks second in the world in terms of natural gas reserves. Gas exports from Iran increased by 10% in volume last year, in monetary terms, the growth was 78%.
