Chinese partners are currently studying it.

This was reported to journalists by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who is in Beijing with the Russian government delegation.

“We talked about Vostok Oil today. Including me, from the point of view that this is a promising project. We presented it – both Rosneft and the Russian government – back in October at the Russian-Chinese energy forum. His Chinese partners are watching it now,” he said.

Vostok Oil provides for the development of oil fields in the Taimyr. The project’s resource base is 6.5 billion tons of premium low-sulfur oil. It includes 52 license areas in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, where 13 oil and gas fields are located, including the fields of the Vankor and Payakh clusters. Rosneft planned to ship 30 million tons of oil from the project via the Northern Sea Route in 2024.

Andrey Polyakov, Rosneft’s chief geologist, reported in early November that the company had already built the Vankor-Payakha-Severn Bay oil pipeline by a quarter within the framework of the Vostok Oil project – 200 km of the 770 km pipeline had already been laid.
